Snoop Dogg joins Nation of Islam

Snoop Dogg has revealed he has joined the Nation of Islam after appearing at the religious group's annual Saviours' Day event in Chicago.
The rapper, who described himself as the "leader of the hip-hop community", told followers he would share what he learned with other musicians.
He told reporters that he joined the group because he was "doing what's right and representing what's right".
It preaches self-reliance for black people within an Islamic framework.
At Sunday's event, the rapper sat on stage while Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan gave a speech.
He said afterwards that listening to the speech from Mr Farrakhan was "about a mirror - it's about looking at yourself".
He added: "We're doing a lot of wrongs among ourselves that need correcting."
When asked if he had joined the movement he said: "I'm already in the Nation, that's why I'm here.
"I'm an advocate for peace, I've been in the peace movement ever since I've been making music.
"My whole thing is not about really trying to push my thing on you.
"It's just about the way I live, and I live how I'm supposed to live as far as doing what's right and representing what's right - that's why I was here today."
He would not say when he had joined the Nation of Islam.
Other rappers previously involved with the movement include NWA star-turned-actor Ice Cube.
What the army would look like if Nerds took over.
Can you guess what this is?

Homeless people should have it so good!)
Once again the taxpayer gets stung.
It also shows that in most cases the quality of life for prisoners has improved considerably from what you might expect.

The headset that will mimic all five senses and make the virtual world as convincing as real life

A virtual reality helmet that recreates the sights, smells, sounds and even tastes of far-flung holiday destinations has been devised by British scientists.
Armchair travellers wearing the device will be able to hear the roar of lions on safari, smell the flowers of an Alpine meadow or feel the heat of the Caribbean sun on their face - all from the comfort of their sitting room.
The device will also allow people to greet friends and family on the other side of the world as if they were in same room, and to immerse themselves in fantasy worlds.
It will even allow students to explore history - and find out what it was really like to live in Ancient Egypt, Rome or Greece.
Scientists have been developing virtual reality devices for nearly two decades. But until now, most have only been able to recreate sound and vision.
Now a team of British academics from York and Warwick universities have launched a project to create the first authentic VR helmet - a device that stimulates the senses so convincingly they have called in Real Virtuality.
The Virtual Cocoon will consist of a headset packed with specially developed electronics - including a high definition, high dynamic computer screen, state of the art speakers, fans to blow hot and cold air over the wearer's face and a 'smell tube' which releases chemicals under the nose to mimic real life odours.
Prof Alan Chalmers of Warwick said the headset should be complete in three to five years. He believes it will be used in long distance business meetings, in schools to allow students to revisit history, or by families wanting to get a taste of far-flung destinations.
It will also be popular among computer games enthusiasts - particularly those who enjoy virtual role play games such as Second Life.
'The idea is not to replace reality but to complement it,' he said at an event organised by Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council. 'You can get a taster of reality in a safe and controlled way.'
The prototype helmet connects wirelessly to a computer which feeds it information about a virtual world or a another part of the real world.
It features a high dynamic screen - which uses a combination of LED and LCD technology to produce pictures that are 10 times darker, or 30 times brighter, than conventional television.
A tube connected to a box of chemicals will release smells under the wearer's nose, while a similar device can squirt flavours directly into the mouth.
The heat and humidity can be changed using a fan and heater, while surround sound speakers recreate noise.
Prof Chalmers believes owners will be able to buy computer software that allows them to explore virtual worlds.
It should be possible too to explore other parts of the world in real time.
A recording device attached to a car could record the sights, smells, sounds and feel of a safari and transmit the sensations over the internet to a Virtual Cocoon on the other side of the world.
Professor David Howard of the University of York, lead scientist on the initiative, says: 'Virtual Reality projects have typically only focused on one or two of the five senses – usually sight and hearing. We’re not aware of any other research group anywhere else in the world doing what we plan to do.
'Smell will be generated electronically via a new technique being pioneered by Alan Chalmers and his team at Warwick which will deliver a predetermined smell recipe on-demand.
'Taste and smell are closely linked but we intend to provide a texture sensation relating to something being in the mouth. Tactile devices will provide touch.'
The helmet could also be used in training soldiers, police officers, medics or fire fighters.
Designers are currently working on a price for the device which initial estimates place at around £1,500.
Blame it on the cat
Neb. man says he put cat in bong 3 times
http://www.ajc.com/news/content/shared-gen/ap/Feature_Stories/Bong_Cat.html
OMAHA, Neb. — A man who stuffed his girlfriend's cat into a makeshift bong and smoked marijuana through it said Tuesday that he had done it on other occasions and that it calmed the cat down.
Acea Schomaker of Lincoln said he never intended to hurt the 6-month-old cat, Shadow.
Lancaster County sheriff's deputies responding to a domestic disturbance at the residence ticketed the 20-year-old Schomaker on suspicion of misdemeanor animal cruelty Sunday after catching him smoking marijuana from a boxlike contraption that had the cat stuffed inside its 12-inch by 6-inch base.
Schomaker's girlfriend, Marissa Vieux, also was ticketed for animal cruelty because she didn't try to stop Schomaker, Sgt. Andy Stebbing said.
Vieux, 22, said she took in the cat about two months ago from friends who abused it.
Schomaker said the cat would bite and scratch them but he didn't want to discipline it by swatting or squirting water at it. He said they didn't bring it to an animal shelter because they feared it would be put down.
So Schomaker said he decided to use the makeshift bong because he had heard about people calming their pets by blowing marijuana smoke in their faces.
"I know for sure this isn't the first time someone has done this," he said. "I'm just the first one to get caught."
He said he put the cat in the bong a total of three times and it seemed to calm the cat.
"Every time we took her out she would pretty much just lay down and proceed to clean herself and act like a stoned person," Schomaker said.
The bong had a foot-long piece of garden hose coming out of a Plexiglas box, with the top secured with duct tape. Schomaker said it was constructed in such a way that the cat did not get immersed in smoke to the extent some might believe.
Schomaker said law enforcement and animal specialists lectured him about why what he did was cruel, and that he learned from his mistake.

Oblivious on all counts
Police ticket car seven times before realizing there’s a dead body inside.

The identity of man found dead inside a car in College Park on Monday afternoon has been confirmed as that of a Gainesville engineer missing since Feb. 11.
Now city employees are answering questions about why the man's car was ticketed seven times by city employees, beginning the day after he was last seen alive.
Gainesville police said that a preliminary autopsy on the body found in the backseat of the 2001 silver BMW 330i confirmed that it was John Waldo, 42, an engineer at AvMed, who was last seen alive Feb. 11 at Calico Jack's Oyster Bar, 3502 SW 2nd Ave., in Gainesville.
"But the autopsy was inconclusive — there was no obvious cause of death," said Gainesville Police spokesman Keith Kameg. Investigators are awaiting toxicology results, which may take up to six weeks, before they will likely narrow their focus in trying to determine the cause of Waldo's death.
At 4 p.m. Monday, a resident of College Park called police about a car that had been parked in the 1900 block of NW 2nd Avenue for several days and had been ticketed seven times by city employees.
Police detective Bennie Smith said Waldo was seated face-forward on the passenger side of the back seat, was fully clothed and had the car's ignition key in his possession when he was found. A loaded pistol was found inside the trunk of the car.
"We don't expect the cause of death to be foul play," Smith told The Sun on Wednesday afternoon.
City records show a ticket officer issued seven tickets to Waldo's BMW, with the first ticket being issued Feb. 12, the day after Waldo was last seen alive.
According to Kameg, Smith said the reason the ticket officers apparently did not notice someone slumped over in the BMW may have been because the window tint on the car was illegally dark.
"Even the person who called this in was not real sure if they had seen him clearly," said Kameg.
Bob Woods, spokesman for the city of Gainesville, said that the city's ticket officers are not trained police officers but work out of the city's public works department. The police department had been charged with enforcing parking in the city until January 2008, when the duty was assigned to public works.
Woods said that after three parking tickets are issued, a car is flagged for additional enforcement such as booting or towing, However, Woods said it could take several days for the system to register the tickets, which was apparently the case for Waldo's BMW.
According to Woods, the city will now make a point of alerting ticket officers about specific vehicles that police are looking for.

Police: Man stole ambulance after crash
EUREKA, Calif., March 1 (UPI) -- A 20-year-old California man stole an ambulance from paramedics sent out to help him after he crashed into some trees, police allege.
The California Highway Patrol alleges after Derick Gates of Hoopa drove his car over a state Route 299 embankment, he refused treatment from responding paramedics and then made off with their emergency vehicle, the Eureka (Calif.) Times-Standard reported Friday.
The ambulance was then pursued by a Humboldt County Sheriff's Office deputy and a state patrol officer. The chase, lasted an entire hour despite both of the ambulance's right tires deflating during the pursuit, the highway patrol said.
The officers eventually took Gates into custody after the ambulance finally broke down.
The Times-Standard said Gates is now facing charges of stealing an emergency vehicle, driving under the influence of a controlled substance and evading a police officer.
A McNuggets "Emergency"
Go here (http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2009/0303091mcnugget1.html) to listen to the audio clip from 911. hahahahaha

MARCH 3--Angered that her local McDonald's was out of Chicken McNuggets, a Florida woman called 911 three times to report the fast food "emergency." Latreasa Goodman, 27, last Saturday called police to complain that a cashier--citing a McDonald's all sales are final policy--would not give her a refund. [To listen to Goodman's 911 calls, click here, here, and here.] When cops responded to the restaurant, Goodman told them, "This is an emergency. If I would have known they didn't have McNuggets, I wouldn't have given my money, and now she wants to give me a McDouble, but I don't want one." Goodman noted, "I called 911 because I couldn't get a refund, and I wanted my McNuggets," according to the below Fort Pierce Police Department report. That logic, however, did not keep cops from citing Goodman for misusing the 911 system. Even after being issued a misdemeanor citation, Goodman contended, "this is an emergency, my McNuggets are an emergency." The McDonald's devotee is seen at right in a mug shot snapped after a previous encounter with police. Last month, a Florida man was arrested after he called 911 to complain about his displeasure with a Burger King combo meal.

And then the fight started.....
After retiring, I went to the Social Security office to apply for Social Security.
The woman behind the counter asked me for my driver's license to verify my age. I looked in my pockets and realized I had left my wallet at home.
I told the woman that I was very sorry, but I would have to go home and come back later.
The woman said, 'Unbutton your shirt'.
So I opened my shirt revealing my curly silver hair.
She said, 'That silver hair on your chest is proof enough for me'
And she processed my Social Security application.
When I got home, I excitedly told my wife about my experience at the Social Security office!
She said, 'You should have dropped your pants. You might have gotten disability, too'
And then the fight started
Fight Two
Saturday morning I got up early, quietly dressed, made my lunch, grabbed the dog, and slipped quietly into the garage. I hooked up the boat up to the truck, and proceeded to back out into a torrential downpour.
The wind was blowing 50mph, so I pulled back into the garage, turned onthe radio, and discovered that the weather would be bad all day.I went back into the house, quietly undressed, and slipped back into bed.
I cuddled up to my wife's back, now with a different anticipation, and whispered, 'The weather out there is terrible.'
My loving wife of 10 years replied, 'Can you believe my stupid husband Is out fishing in that?'
And that's how the fight started
Fight Three
My wife and I were sitting at a table at my high school reunion, and I keptstaring at a drunken lady swigging her drink as she sat alone at a nearby table.
My wife asked, 'Do you know her?'
'Yes,' I sighed, 'she's my old girlfriend. I understand she took to drinking right after we split up those many years ago, and I hear she hasn't been sober since.'
'My God!' says my wife, 'Who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?'
And then the fight started.....
Fight Four
My wife and I are watching "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" while we were In bed. I turned to her and said, "Do you want to have sex?"
"No," she answered.
I then said, "Is that your final answer?"
She didn't even look at me this time, simply saying "Yes."
So I said, "Then I'd like to phone a friend."
And then the fight started.
Fight Five
I rear-ended a car this morning. So, there we were along side the road and slowly the other driver got out of his car.
You know how sometimes you just get soooo stressed and little things just seem funny? Yeah, well I couldn't believe it.... He was a DWARF!!!
He stormed over to my car, looked up at me, and shouted, 'I AM NOT HAPPY!!!'
So, I looked down at him and said, 'Well, then which one are you?'
And then the fight started.
Fight Six
I took my wife to a restaurant. The waiter, for some reason, took my order first.
'I'll have the strip steak, medium rare, please.'
He said, 'Aren't you worried about the mad cow?'
'Nah, she can order for herself.'
And then the fight started.
Fight Seven
A woman is standing nude, looking in the bedroom mirror. She is not happy with what she sees and says to her husband, 'I feel horrible; I look old, fat and ugly. I really need you to pay me a compliment.'
The husband replies,'Your eyesight's darn near perfect.'
And then the fight started.
